A True Transformation

…do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
Romans 12:2

It is really important to understand the Gospel of Jesus Christ. People should not just read and talk about the Gospel. It is a powerful message that should change people’s lives from within. When God touches a person’s life through receiving the truth of the Gospel, there is a supernatural change–– a new birth, a true conversion. The power of the Gospel speaks for itself; look at the many lives it has changed.

In the church, I believe there is a great deception among people. There are Christians who feel safe in their salvation, and they believe they are going to heaven. However, believers must be careful not fool themselves. If people are practicing a life of sin, they are deceived. They hear, but they do not do; that is a problem. There has to be a genuine transformation from their old life to newness of life in Christ.

Understand, the Bible lists those who will not inherit the kingdom of God. A true Christian cannot continue to live a life of sin: adultery, fornication, lying, cheating and robbing their employer (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Sometimes Christians need to rethink their lives. Can they see a true evidence of transformation? It should be very evident.

Jesus gave an analogy to help explain that our salvation is secure so long as we abide in Him. He is the Vine and we are the branches. As we abide in the Vine as His disciples, we will naturally bear fruit. Yet what happens when there is no true fruit in a person’s life? Jesus tells us that the unfruitful branch is cut off and thrown in the fire (John 15:1-8).

There has to be a true transformation that brings forth fruit in a believer’s life (Galatians 5:22). Has the power of the Gospel truly transformed your life?

….relax in the omnipotence of the Lord Jesus; look up into His lovely face and as you behold Him, He will transform you into His likeness. You do the beholding, He does the transforming. There is no shortcut to holiness.
