The Way to Eternal Life

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.”
Matthew 7:13-14

Jesus came to the nitty gritty of the Gospel––“Who can inherit the kingdom of God?” Jesus made the way so narrow, and not many people enter that gate. Instead, they go through the wide gate––the wide path that leads to destruction. Many people are hell-bound, but God’s salvation is a free gift.

Many people will not accept the true way of salvation only through Jesus Christ. He is the Bridge Builder––the Mediator between God and Man. Religion is man’s way of trying to reach God through a person’s own merits. People try to go around and reach God another way, but it is not about religion; it is about relationship.

Understand, Jesus is the only way, the only truth and the only life (John 14:6). No matter what religion you are: Buddhist, Taoist, Mormon, Jehovah’s Witness, Catholic or Protestant; a person must come to God through Jesus Christ, or they will perish (John 3:16). The Gospel is so simple, yet so many people perish eternally. I believe it is because of their unbelief and lack of faith in accepting Jesus Christ as their Savior.

Many people have questions in their minds about eternity. They wonder, When I die what really happens to me? According to the Scriptures, the body dies, but the spirit goes on to live forever. Depending on your decision to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and accept Him as your Savior will determine where you spend eternity.

When you come to Christ, you are forgiven of your sins. The Holy Spirit dwells within you, and He empowers your life so you can be used by the Lord. You will belong to Christ––you will be His disciple (Ephesians 1:7-13). Which path are you on?

There are two roads of life, the world’s path and God’s path. Consider the journey and choose the way of the Lord––the narrow path. Jesus is there and He is the way to heaven.
