Praise the Glory of His Grace

...to the praise of the glory of His grace....
Ephesians 1:6

On reading the book of Ephesians, John Stott stated we would be “moved by wonder and worship.” In fact, there are many Christian hymns that have been inspired by this sublime, Ephesian epistle. Songs of praise written during and after the Puritan era were based solely upon the Word of God. There are hundreds of powerful hymns of praise that are seemingly forgotten––unknown treasures to our children. They need to be memorized and sung! Many songs of praise sung in churches today are shallow; they lack the depth of doctrine and glory given to Jesus’ name.

All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name

All hail the pow'r of Jesus' Name!
Let angels prostrate fall;
Bring forth the royal diadem,
And crown Him Lord of all!
Bring forth the royal diadem
Ye chosen seed of Israel's race,
Ye ransomed from the fall,
Hail Him Who saves you by His grace,
And crown Him Lord of all!
Edward Perronet - 1779

Stand Up, Stand Up For Jesus

Stand up, stand up for Jesus,
Stand in his strength alone;
The arm of flesh will fail you,
Ye dare not trust your own.
Put on the gospel armor,
Each piece put on with prayer;
Where duty calls or danger,
Be never wanting there.
George Duffield Jr. -1858

The gift of song was given to man that he should proclaim the Word of God through music.
~Martin Luther~
