In the year that King Uzziah died . . .

(Isaiah 6:1)

Uzziah entered the Holy of Holies in the temple, the very terra firma that was off-limits to all except for the priest. Maybe he did this because he felt that his wisdom transcended all of the counsel he had around him. When the priest attempted to prohibit Uzziah from entering, the king screamed threats. Immediately, Uzziah was struck with leprosy, and his chronicle changed from one who was “doing what was right in the sight of the Lord” to one who had been separated from the house because of his leprosy.
