While Cleopas and his companion are on their way to Emmaus, a stranger accompanies them and asks the question every person preoccupied with pain wants to hear: “What are you talking about?” They began their grief speech recounting the crucifixion of Jesus. They hoped in Jesus and now their hope was gone. Jesus responded by giving them every thread of Himself found in the Word of God. Likewise, we can become so preoccupied with hurt and disappointment that we overlook everything God says in His Word. The answer to life, however, is found within the cumulative nature of the Scriptures.
