And He said, “Your name shall no longer be called Jacob, but Israel; for you

           have struggled with God and with men, and have prevailed.”

                   (Genesis 32:28)

My children didn’t have any earning power, so I’d often give them money. I overpowered them because I’m their father. By the same token, they would say, “Daddy, do you remember when you told us we could stay up another 15 minutes past curfew?” Being the father that I am, I said, “Go ahead and stay up 25 minutes past curfew!” In the same way, you overpower God because He allows you to overpower Him. And sometimes, He’s just waiting on you to ask Him by reminding Him of what He has already promised in His Word.
