Then Paul stood in the midst of the Areopagus and said, “Men of Athens,

I perceive that in all things you are very religious . . .”

                                   (Acts 17:22)

People come to church looking for meaning and purpose, and nothing else outside of the church will work. No extracurricular activities or relationships will resolve this emptiness, even though they might offer immediate satisfaction for a short time. Instead, people need something else that can fill the empty, gaping hole in their hearts. Human beings weren’t created to satisfy themselves with only what they know because knowledge has its limitations. No, mankind was designed to be only satisfied by the eternal and living God.
