Charitable Gamblers

In a Kansas City Star article, Mike Greer, one member of a group who won almost $70 million, said that some of the winnings would be going to a church. He claimed, "The Lord trusted us to do certain things with the money."

An interesting ethical dilemma is, "Should the church accept?" The ticket is owned by a group of people. It was bought at a porn shop by one member of the group through a legal lottery.

Proverbs 15:8 teaches, "The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him."

Many would argue whether or not the church should accept the gift, but for me I would want to meet with the giver and try and discern their heart and then decide.
