Assurance of Salvation Part 5 – The Power of Scripture

If you lack assurance it would a blessing for you to read through the Psalms--especially Psalm 51. God's Word is extremely practical. Check out the incredible promise God makes to us if we meditate in His word - Psalm 1:1-6.  The righteous man delights in the Word of God and is promised success in whatever he does.  Most people ignore the Bible.  God has given us his Word as a way to build us up and comfort us in our salvation.  If you are struggling with your salvation...well, wrestle with God as Jacob did.  Read his Word and wrestle with the promises of God.  He has promised to surely save you if you would have faith in Christ.

No mere man can determine another’s salvation nor give him full assurance. It is God alone who searches the heart and examines the mind (Jer. 17:9-10).  But I would encourage you to read Romans 10.  Have you called on the Lord?  Have you given your life over to Him?  Have you confessed with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord?  Do you believe that God raised him from the dead? One mark of salvation is humility. The more assured you are of your faith, the more humble you become.  We must evidence a desire for righteousness and intimacy with the Lord and a desire for correction and self-examination. Keep on fighting. Keep on wrestling with your faith. Keep on working out your salvation with fear and trembling.  Just as the writer of Hebrews encouraged the church to grow up and not quit (Hebrews 5:11-14) I can assure you of this - If you do these things you will persevere and you will gain full assurance of your salvation and the wondrous grace of Jesus.
