Hands-on Faith for Families– week of October 22, 2018

Theme: Honor God with What He Gives You

Good Stewardship of Our Bodies

Scripture:I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. (Romans 12:1, 2 ESV)

Play: Have each person play a round of “If I were king” by describing what his or her castle or mansion would look like. After everyone has had a turn, vote on whose castle or mansion seems to be the most extravagant, the most fun or the prettiest.

Talk: The Bible tells us that Jesus is the King of Kings. He deserves the best castle or mansion we could imagine. But His Holy Spirit chooses to live in us when we believe in Jesus. That’s why Romans 12:1-2 tells us to offer our bodies as living sacrifices to God. We offer ourselves completely to Him and keep our bodies holy so that He can use His “castles” for His good purpose. How can you honor God with your body?

Pray: Thank God for His Holy Spirit, who lives inside you.
