One of your responsibilities as a New Testament Levite is to carry the inscribed moral law on your heart. In other words, as you go to business this week and a deal comes up, your boss says, “Just overcharge just a little bit. Just add a few dollars, and it will make us richer at the end of the year.” Suppose you're an accountant. What do you do? As a New Testament Levite, we carry the law of God in our hearts. This means that we remember that our God is very concerned about balanced books. No cheating! No stealing! He’s very concerned that everything be done fairly and in order. And so, as a believer, we say to our boss, “I’m sorry, I can’t do that.”
