"I don't believe all those stories learned in Sunday School anymore!" "I've grown up and I'm going to live for today!" "Jesus is nothing more than a prophet from yesterday. It's the 21st century." I've met a few who make this kind of a break from their childhood faith, but the far greater danger is a slow, imperceptible drift. Work gets demanding. New friends coax us to join them in new ways to release the pressure. A church friend betrays us and never comes clean about it. Unbelieving friends begin to appear to be more dependable. Our heart simply isn't interested in reading the Bible and prayer. We need to watch out! Proverbs warns us against this kind of drive. Above everything else we need to guard our heart. Let's beware of spiritual drift .
