More and more these days I hear people say that they won't accept Christianity because "religion is just a means of controlling peoples' minds." Just look at the oppression that took place in the Catholic Church during the Middle ages, or the Crusades - they say - and one can see that religion doesn't liberate people . . . it enslaves them.
And they're right.
That's why, in Romans 10:21, the Apostle Paul invites us to forsake the chains of religion and embrace the freedom that is only found in a relationship with Jesus Christ.
