Why do wilderness experiences have such power in shaping our walks of faith? Even in Scripture, God took some of the greatest heroes of the faith through the wilderness—some for a long period of time—before He used them mightily in ministry. Take Abraham, for example: he was just a pagan guy, living life like everyone else, until God called him into the wilderness. As we study his story today, we learn again why God’s call to salvation is often a call away from security.
