Who chooses who in salvation? Does God choose man or does man choose God? That has become one of the most divisive issues in the Church over the past centuries, as godly men and women on both sides have passionately argued their case. But despite the many books and treatises written to explain the diverse opinions on this topic, the Apostle Paul leaves little room for doubt on this issue. He may not explain philosophically how God’s sovereignty relates to man’s free will, but He does let us know beyond a shadow of doubt that God is the Author and Finisher of our faith . . . not us.
