In Numbers 23:19, Moses asks a rhetorical question to his Jewish audience to get them to re-evaluate their misconceptions of God. He asks: “Has God said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” Moses was reminding Israel that when God makes a promise . . . He keeps it. In Revelation 19, the Apostle John will remind us of that very same truth as he gives us a vision of that day when all of God’s promises to Israel will be fulfilled.
Did you know the average person speaks between 2,000 and 10,000 words a day?! That means we have thousands of opportunities daily to encourage others or tear them down, to honor God or dishonor Him, and Jesus says in Matthew 12:34 that each word spoken reveals a little more about who we are on the inside. So in this series, Stephen takes us back into the convicting book of James to give us a long, hard look at our hearts…through the window of our mouths.
