You Shall Not Misuse the Name of the Lord Your God
There was a time when the entertainment industry was bound by a code that forbade the use of blasphemy in a movie. The code stated among other things the following: "Pointed profanity – this includes the words 'God,' 'Lord,' 'Jesus,' 'Christ' (unless used reverently),…is forbidden." Those days of the "Hays Code" are long gone. Today’s movies are filled with the irreverent use of God's name. There is a higher code than the "Hays Code" which says that such language is wrong. It is the code of God's moral law.
