Peter refers to Joel's prophecy concerning the pouring out of the Spirit on all flesh and said that this prophecy was fulfilled at Pentecost. Formerly, it was the Jews who had been the people of God. Now the Spirit was being poured out not only on the Jews but on all people. People from all over the world would now become the people of God – Jews and Gentiles alike.
