Jesus' view of sin was quite different from what people think about sin today. In some churches, sin is hardly mentioned. In others, it is implied that people sin but the subject is handled very carefully as to not offend anyone. Yet, Jesus confronted sin head on. He even talked as if sin were very serious and deserved a severe penalty. He taught that sin should be avoided at all costs.
