Modern evangelical churches have one important thing that is missing: people who tremble at the Word of God. We have many other things: great buildings and sanctuaries, great worship teams, elaborate sound and projection systems, etc. Yet the powerful preaching of the Word of God that once roared from our pulpits is scarce. Even the great pulpits that once existed in our evangelical churches have been moved aside and replaced with a small lectern. God esteems the person who trembles at the Word of God. May the powerful preaching of the Word of God return to our pulpits and may the people who tremble at the Word multiply.
