References: Haggai 2

Haggai prophesied that one day the temple would be filled with glory and when that happened peace would come. What did the prophecy mean? Was he referring to a future temple yet to be built that would be filled with glory or was he referring to the coming of the Messiah who would bring peace with God through His death on the cross?
