Jim Zumwalt in his book Passion for the Heart of God writes, "His Shepherd heart compels Him to leave the ninety-nine and head for the mountains to find the wayward one. Joy comes with finding the one lost sheep, and in great excitement, He calls for His neighbors and friends to come and rejoice with Him." Jesus has a longing heart for lost sheep.
