The Old Testament sacrifices had to be offered over and over again. The work of the priests was never complete. These continual sacrifices pointed to one great sacrifice that would come and that was the great sacrifice of Christ on the cross. Only that one great sacrifice can truly take away sin. This message of the one great sacrifice of Christ needs to be proclaimed today more than ever.
