Jesus went back to heaven, but He promised that He would not leave them as orphans that He would come to them. This He did by sending the Holy Spirit on the Day of Pentecost. He sent the Holy Spirit to give them power from on High. The Holy Spirit was sent directly from heaven to the church to help them carry out their mission to evangelize the nations.
