Daniel asks for God's mercy upon his people and nation and city. Today, we need to do the same for our own nation not because we are righteous and deserving of God's blessing. On the contrary, we are a sinful people and God's wrath is upon us. We must ask for His mercy and grace that our nation may turn back to God once again.
