A great victory was won by Christ on the cross. By His death and resurrection, he dealt Satan a deadly blow. He brought judgment upon him and his kingdom. Matthew Henry writes, "By the judgment of the prince of this world, it is revealed that Christ is stronger than Satan, and can disarm and dispossess him, and set up his throne upon the ruins of his." The Holy Spirit brings conviction of this judgment to the hearts of men.
