John Broadus writes, "The term meek….includes freedom from pretension, gentleness, and patient endurance of injury – where it is proper to endure. The Messianic King himself is meek and the meek shall be his happy subjects." Meekness in this biblical sense is a gift of the Holy Spirit. It is a mark of all those who truly know Christ.
