3213 Bill Hathaway – Part 1: (rebel, orphanage, Japan) Bill’s father disappears on a Navy cruise, and his mother struggles to care for Bill and his sisters. Because Bill is a troublemaker, the state puts the children in an orphanage, where Bill hates the harsh treatment. He also hates Japan. World War Two ends on V-J Day when he hears the Gospel and is saved, changing him miraculously. He graduates, joins the Air Force and completes computer school. The first part ends as he is sent to Japan.
