Christian Essentials, Part 2

References: Galatians 6

By what means are we made right before God? All too often people encounter this question and make legalistic, religious observance or good works the answer. In the book of Galatians, Paul refutes this particular sentiment and demonstrates that simple faith in Christ's atoning sacrifice is the only sure basis for our righteousness before God. This month, join Alistair as he explores this book of God's Word. False teachers had discarded the gospel of grace and had exchanged it for a "gospel" of works by observing the law, which is no gospel at all. "Right With God" is an exposition of Paul's response to this distortion of the truth and an explanation of how faith in Christ yields true freedom and righteousness before God.

Name Above All Names
“This book, as its title suggests, is a brief exposition of what Chris¬tians often refer to as ‘the person and work of Christ.’ Its focus is on some of the different ways in which the Bible portrays Christ’s identity and describes His ministry. The chapters are by no means exhaustive. They cover only seven of the many descriptions of Jesus found in the Bible, and none of those descriptions is treated exhaustively. So these pages are meant as a taster, a beginning exploration. Our joint prayer is that they will help some who are not yet Christians, be an eye opener to those who already are, serve as an encouragement for mature believers, and be a pleasure for all who love Christ.” – Alistair Begg and Sinclair Ferguson
