1 Corinthians 4:14-21
In the eighties militant feminism seemed to be overrunning fatherhood and conducting a funeral for the role of dad in the lives of kids, but suddenly at the funeral the corpse came to life---Promise Keepers, Wild at Heart, and even Arnold's comment—"Manly Men." Dad tutoring his kids in math and science, swinging them in the park and teaching them to swing at the ballpark is hip once again. But while we're spending all this time with them, how do we react when our heavenly kids act like demons? How do we react when they tell us they don't buy dad's old fashioned ideas about right and wrong? Turn to 1 Corinthians 4:14 ff and let's see what we can learn about fathering from this single man, the Apostle Paul, who shows us what it means to be not only a physical dad but a spiritual father.
