The Birth of The Ethiopian Church
Monday, July 04, 2011
Mention Ethiopia and famine immediately comes to mind. What needs to come to mind is explosive church growth, like the early days in the Book of Acts. When a one party communist state was instituted in 1974, evangelical Christianity was outlawed. When freedom came to Ethiopia in 1991 with the collapse of the Soviet Block, the number of evangelical believers in the country had doubled from four million to eight million. How was the Church born in this country? Who brought them the good news? What difference should it make in our lives this week? Turn to Acts 8:26-40 and let's take a look at The Birth of the Ethiopian Church.

About Truth Encounter

Truth Encounter seeks to help you hear the voice of Jesus Christ and get close to Him through the teaching of the Bible. Dave Wyrtzen will help you understand how Jesus Christ can transform your life not just on Sunday morning, but in the reality of your Monday through Saturday life.

About Dave Wyrtzen

Above everything else Dave Wyrtzen is a pastor-teacher. In 1973 he sat together with about sixteen others in a small town thirty miles southwest of Dallas. These sixteen wanted someone to simply open up the pages of Scripture on a Sunday morning, help them to hear the truth, and then train them on how to live it in the marketplace. Dave is still their pastor-teacher and Midlothian Bible Church has grown into a mature church. The Spirit of God has used this church family to generate several other churches in the southwest section of Dallas.

He received both his Th M and Th D from Dallas Seminary and is an adjunct faculty member for the Seminary. Dave speaks regularly for Bible Conferences and in many foreign countries. Dave's greatest joy is his wife, Mary, their eight children (counting spouses) and eight grandkids. His life goal is to communicate God's truth through the power of the Spirit in practical, and skillful ways. Since 1973 Dave has faithfully pastored in Midlothian and through Truth Encounter we invite you to join us for his unique depth, passion, and practicality. This Bible teaching is rooted in solid study but lives in the office, classroom, and ball field.
