The mission of the church is a global one. Jesus came to seek and to save those who are lost. And, by the Great Commission, He also sends us out to reach those who have never heard the gospel.

Leaders of the church can be hurtful if they lead the flock into heresy or allow false prophets in. So leaders must be humble and remember that the church belongs to Jesus, not to them.

In order for the church of Jesus Christ to be led by the Spirit, it must have human leaders who are also servants. But since Jesus didn’t give us a manual, how is the church to operate as an organization?

As the Bible shows, worship involves us physically and emotionally. It includes music and our voices. But overall, worship is an acknowledgement of who God is and what He has done.

Worship is fundamental to who we are as Christians. The worship of God is the reason we gather together as the church, and it is the primary thing we will be doing in heaven.

Within the church, love and acceptance are necessary because the world will not provide this. We belong to Jesus Christ, and His love is what makes our unity possible. We are a spiritual family.

The church at Philippi was like many churches today, because disharmony was threatening to split the church. To be unified, we need to avoid being conceited, and instead value others above ourselves.

Each member of the body of Christ has a different function, but we are all equal because everyone is necessary. However, we should never feel that we are sufficient in ourselves.

Paul compares the church to a physical body. The church body has a variety of talents, skills and abilities, but there is also a unity of purpose. And we should always emphasize that unity.

In reality, the work of evangelism is God’s work. God uses people to reach out to the lost, but ultimately it is the Lord who does the work. He is the one who calls, and He is the one who saves.

Jesus said He would build His church. But how does this happen? It happens by the work of evangelism, as believers proclaim the good news of salvation in Jesus Christ, and people respond to it.
