Matthew 24 lists some signs of the end times to look for. We should look up — for the coming of Christ. We should look around — to see where we are in the prophetic timetable. And we should look out — for spiritual counterfeits.

In Matthew 24 Jesus prophesied that tribulation was coming. This surprised His disciples because they expected He would immediately set up His kingdom. And so they asked Him for the sign of the end of the age.

The temple in Jerusalem took over 80 years to build, and some of the stones weighed over 100 tons. So in Matthew 24, the disciples were startled when Jesus said the temple would be destroyed.

God had promised to punish the Egyptians for enslaving His people, and to bring the Israelites out with great wealth. So when they made the implements for the tabernacle, it was with gold they had received from the Egyptians.
