The heart of the prophet Jonah was incredibly hard. Jonah would do anything - he would even die - rather than obey God's command to preach to the city of Nineveh.

Jonah refused to obey the Lord, and instead ran away. Why? Because he knew the Lord would forgive the people of Nineveh if they repented, and he wanted them to be destroyed.

Obadiah prophesied doom for Edom, because it rejoiced when Jerusalem was destroyed. And the destruction of Edom illustrates the fate of all the earth in the Day of the Lord.
