Through everything that happened, the Lord was developing Joseph’s faith, using pain to cause it to grow. And Joseph continued to trust God, despite the bad circumstances in his life.

The Bible records the failures as well as the successes of its characters. These were real people, and some of them were bad. However, nothing bad is recorded about the life of Joseph!

The contrast between Joseph and his brothers is great. Joseph had integrity; his brothers were immoral. Yet through it all, God used the most unlikely people to bring the Messiah into the world.

Joseph’s brothers remembered his dream, and they tried to keep it from being fulfilled. At first they wanted to kill him, but then they decided to sell him into slavery so they could make a profit.

God restored the family of Jacob, and He caused all Jacob’s enemies to be at peace with Him. When God restores, He always seeks to bring us to the highest level. We are the ones who settle for less.
