God's judgment of Sodom is a reminder that there is a future judgment when the entire earth will be burned up. But those who are in Christ Jesus will not have to go through that judgment.

When God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, He also saved some people. This reminds us that God is in the business of redemption. At the cross of Calvary, He dealt with the sins of those who believe in Him.

God made a covenant that Abraham's descendants would own the land of Israel. Their ownership was unconditional. But God's promise that they would occupy the land was conditional on their obedience.
