The manna in Exodus 16 is like the Word of God. It was supernaturally given, and it had to be gathered daily. And it is a type of Jesus Christ — Jesus said “I am the living bread which came down from heaven.”

Each day, the Israelites were to gather only enough manna to feed themselves for that day. They had to trust that God would provide for them.
