Time and time again, Jill Briscoe has met and ministered to suffering people. Many of them have experienced trials we cannot even comprehend. In this stirring message on the trials of Job, Jill shares what she has learned from the examples of those who responded rightly to suffering.  Jill shares her own struggles with waiting through difficult situations and overcoming the temptation to think that if God doesn't answer prayers the way we want, God isn't good. Jill shows us how we can learn to say, like Job, "I will accept it, as from a good God," and allow our situation to increase our faith and dependence on our Redeemer.

After Jesus was crucified, the women who supported Him were traumatized, the apostles who followed Him were terrified, and it seemed as if the incarnational project He undertook was totaled. Most of the apostles were originally “resurrection” skeptics—and so are many people today. Peter was willing to explore the message the women brought. And he eventually came to a life-changing conclusion. Everything turned around with the discovery of an empty tomb!

When Jesus cried out in agony from the cross, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?,” it was much more than an expression of the horrifying physical pain of His execution. At that moment, Christ’s spiritual separation from God as He took on humanity’s sins and paid the death penalty for them—the first and only time he ever was separated from the Father—was beyond excruciating. Stuart Briscoe explains exactly what happened on the cross that day, and he describes the amazing love that motivated such a profound sacrifice.

How do you approach crisis? Many of us see crisis as a dead end, when, in reality, it’s a crossroads, presenting both danger and opportunity. Opportunity for what? To see what God alone can do with the most impossible situations. Jill Briscoe shares how the miracle of Easter can change how you respond to crisis.

Stuart Briscoe As Jesus outlined His expectations to His disciples, they clearly needed a lot of help. So He promised to ask the Father to send them the Counselor, the Parakletos, which means literally “one called alongside,” to help. We need Him, too.

Jill Briscoe Can God revive the believer and animate the moral corpse of the unbeliever? In other words, “Can these bones live?” Ezekiel had a vision and a mission that can be ours. What God is looking for is a “blessing bone.”

Jill Briscoe The Bible, in both the Old Testament and New Testament, overflows with images of the Water of Life: storms and rain; streams in the desert; springs and wells; rivers, waterfalls, and watersheds; and the gentle dew of heaven. Water is a symbol of the Holy Spirit.
