You Already Have an A, Part 1

November 4, 2013
Do you remember cramming for tests in school, memorizing facts to ace an "A"?  You probably also remember the stress and the pressure to get everything right. Too many believers are living their spiritual lives this same way, trying to earn an "A" by doing and saying all the right things.
If that's you, there's something you need to know - you already have an "A" because Jesus took the test for you through His death and resurrection! In this message by Pete Briscoe from his series on Galatians, learn why you don't have to march to the beat of the "perfect" Christian life anymore... you can dance!
Based on Galatians 5:1, this is the 2nd message in Pete's 23-message series, Dance Lessons.

"A word aptly spoken is like apples of gold in settings of silver." Proverbs 25:11Have you ever had an "ah ha" moment? A time when something was said that just clicked with you and it permanently changed your perspective?Throughout Stuart's lifetime, from his childhood to his service in the Royal Marines, and then as a full-time pastor, he had a number of spiritual "ah ha" moments - times when people he greatly respected shared words of wisdom with him that shaped his worldview and ministry. Stuart explains the five key statements that left a lasting impression on him and drive his faith today: The Word of Christ is totally true and utterly reliable. We never touch what isn't ours. You can't do what you've never attempted. Nail your colors to the mast. Lift up your eyes and look on the fields ready to harvest.

Splinters, thorns, prickers. It doesn't matter what they are called, they hurt and get under your skin! Life in our world is filled with thorns: difficult relationships, illness, loss of loved ones, broken promises. The Bible tells us that even the Apostle Paul and God Himself in Jesus struggled under the bite of thorns. But God does not allow thorns in our lives without providing sufficient grace to live in the prickly mess. What Satan intends to push us down often results in pushing us to our knees in front of God's throne instead. "You who wore my thorns that I may know Your grace...pierced by my sin that I may see Your face...loved and forgiven from shame and deep disgrace. You wore my thorns. You wore my thorns." (from Jill's poem "You Wore My Thorns" copyright 2003) In this second message in her series Grace in the Garden, Jill Briscoe shares two of her poems: "Divinity Wapped in a Blanket" and "You Wore My Thorns."

Why is a walk in a garden so relaxing? Because we were created to live in God's garden of perfection, forever. Unfortunately, as the story goes, Adam and Eve made a fatal error and were forced to make their home in the garden of sin instead, where nothing is perfect or peaceful. But remember, this is God's story! God came looking for Adam and Eve after they disobeyed. And in His grace, He still comes looking for us today. Jill Briscoe takes us through biblical examples of God's saving grace and how He offers us a way to His riches through Christ. This is the first of two messages in Jill's series, Grace in the Garden.

Is worshipping God the central focus of your life?  Well, if it isn't, it should be.  In this message, Jill Briscoe looks at the book of Exodus and focuses on the tabernacle that Moses built to help us gain a better understand of what it really means to worship God. This is the 6th message in Jill's 7-message series. Here Am I, Send Aaron, from the Book of Exodus.

God is looking for worshipers, and He won't rest until He finds them. God is looking for people who understand that the Holy Spirit lives within them and gives them everything they need to worship at any given moment. He is seeking someone who cares more about authenticity, true worshipers, worshiping in spirit and in truth. They care more about what God thinks than what the people around them think. This teaching from John 4:19-26 is the last of three messages in Pete Briscoe's series, Worshipful Living.

The essence of a life of worship is the reflection of God's love.  God has love at the core of His being, and it's so much an essential part of who He is that you can actually call Him love because He is just saturated with love for you and for me. This teaching from Mark 12:28 is the second of three messages in Pete Briscoe's series, Worshipful Living.

Worship teaches us that we are to be "He" centered, not by living this day for ourselves, but by living for that day when we will see Jesus face to face. Living for Him will change the way we live our lives. This teaching from Exodus 20 is the first of three messages in Pete Briscoe's series, Worshipful Living.
