The Big Conversation: You, Jesus and the Bema

May 13, 2015
When each of us stands before the Bema, the judgment seat of Christ, what sort of conversation are we going to have with Jesus? How can we know what sort of things Christ will reward us for, and how should we live our lives today in light of those things?

In this message, Pete gives us an acrostic for bema to help us remember what Jesus wants to see in our lives at the Bema. Based on Luke 14 and Matthew 5:11, this is the 2nd teaching in Pete Briscoe's 6-message series, This Is Big.

When you think of the judgment seat of Christ, how does it make you feel? Does it make you feel frightened? If you are a believer, it shouldn't! The judgment seat of Christ, or Bema, will be a time when those who are in Christ receive their reward, and we, like those who have gone before us in the faith, should look forward to it with eager anticipation. In this message, Pete tells us what the Bema is and how we as Christians should live our lives today in light of it. Based on 2 Corinthians 5:10, this is the 1st teaching in Pete Briscoe's 6-message series, This Is Big.

As Jesus outlined His expectations to His disciples, they clearly needed a lot of help. So He promised to ask the Father to send them the Counselor, the Parakletos, which means literally "one called alongside," to help. We need Him, too. Based on John 14-16, Stuart's message is the final teaching in a 4-message series by Stuart and Jill Briscoe titled The Holy Spirit.

Can God revive the believer and animate the moral corpse of the unbeliever? In other words, "Can these bones live?" Ezekiel had a vision and a mission that can be ours. In this world there's no shortage of grounds for doubts and fears, and Christians are not exempt. It is important as believers that we be people who know what we know, believe what we believe, and are confident in the things that we ought to be confident in. Teaching from 1 John 4:7-5:21, this is the third message in Stuart Briscoe's series Living the Life.

In its early days, the Christian church was very conscious of the struggle for the souls of men and women between "the Spirit of truth and the spirit of falsehood." In our modern culture, we see dramatically changing attitudes toward truth. But we must recognize that there is such a thing as truth, and there is such a thing as error. With teaching from 1 John 4:1-21, this is the second message in Stuart Briscoe's series Living the Life.
