Seeing Jesus in Exodus - The Burning Bush

March 23, 2016
Moses must have been bewildered to see a burning bush that didn't become consumed by flames. And even more in awe when God spoke to him from within the flames. What can we learn about Jesus from the burning bush story found in the Book of Exodus?

In this message, Pete Briscoe explores the burning bush conversation and how it reveals more of Christ's character.

Based on Exodus 3:1-12, this is the 6th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

When God visibly appears to man in the Old Testament He's called the Angel of the Lord. But who exactly is the Angel of the Lord - an angel, the Holy Spirit, God the Father? Furthermore, why does the Angel of the Lord appear and for what purpose? In this message, Pete Briscoe answers these confounding questions and points to Scriptural evidence of it being the pre-incarnate Christ. Based on Genesis 22:11-12 and Exodus 3:1-6, this is the 5th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

The man Melchizedek is mentioned only three times in Scripture. Yet the manner in which he comes onto the scene in Genesis 14 and the language used to describe him in all three instances is important to study. Why? Because Scripture tells us that Jesus is a forever priest in the order of Melchizedek. In this message, Pete Briscoe takes a theological discussion that might otherwise stump people and reveals hidden truths about Melchizedek that are exciting to discover. Based on Genesis 14, this is the 4th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

Does the Book of Genesis predict the coming Messiah? In Genesis 3:15, right after the Fall in the Garden of Eden, God says to the deceiver: "And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel." In this message, Pete Briscoe examines the predictions in Genesis to discover who will triumphantly crush the head of Satan. Based on Genesis 3:1-15, this is the 3rd message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

The New Testament is absolutely clear that the Son of God was actively involved in creation. His existence didn't start at His birth in Bethlehem - He actually created Bethlehem! As mind-blowing as that sounds, it's true. Colossians 1:16 says this about Jesus, "For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth." Pete Briscoe takes us to the very first line of Scripture in Genesis and walks us through creation where we see all three members of the Trinity active in the creation process. Based on Genesis 1:1-24, this is the 2nd message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

Behind the stories of heroes and the history of Israel lies a deeper story in the Old Testament. It's the story of Jesus, and it's delicately woven throughout all of Scripture. In this message, Pete Briscoe teaches how from Genesis through Revelation, we can see God's redemptive plan at work through the gift of Jesus. Are you ever tempted to blame yourself for your suffering? Satan wants us to believe that hardships are punishment for our sin—but nothing could be further from the truth. Christ suffered the consequences of our sin so we don't have to. In this message, Jill looks to the book of Job to explain how—in the midst of our turmoil—we can live above Satan's lies and live in light of the Truth instead. This is the 7th message in Jill's 8-message series, Triumph in Trouble, on the life of Job.
