Sometimes we think that if we could only get what we want, we would finally be happy. Solomon thought that, too. He had a "getting" obsession, never denying himself anything he wanted, and he became "greater by far than anyone in Jerusalem before [him]." But all these things didn't bring Solomon the happiness he was looking for. Solomon and you and I are all trying to soothe a heart ache that can't be cured by "things" but only by finding our purpose, the reason we were made! Based on Ecclesiastes 2, this is the second message in Jill's 2-message series, Heart Hunger.

Ever feel like something is missing, like you just don't belong? You probably feel that way because it is true! God created us for Himself and put eternity in our hearts - we were not made for here. So how do we make the most of this life where "everything is meaningless, a chasing after the wind" (as Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes) in a world which is not our home? Based on Ecclesiastes 3:11, this is the first message in Jill's 2-message series, Heart Hunger.

Food, gifts, parties, songs, traditions, worship services, and Christmas movies are all things most of us take part in around Christmas time. With all of these things going on, we are often too full for anything else - especially Jesus. Though we don't make room for Jesus, He has created room for us in His kingdom. This Christmas message by Pete Briscoe explains how we can make room for Jesus in our lives to see a life-changing transformation take place within us. Luke 2:7

It's ironic that Christmastime seems to have less peace than any other time of the year despite the angels appearing in the sky to the shepherds after Jesus was born and proclaiming peace on earth. Jesus came to bring peace, yet stresses around the holiday tend to elevate everything we're struggling with, sending peace further and further out of our reach. So many of us know that peace is a path that's hard to find - so how do we find it? In this message, Pete takes us through Zechariah's song in Luke 1 and gives us hope that peace can be found, in any season of life.

"I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." John 10:10 Jesus did not say, "Come to me and I'll fill your life full of stuff." He said, "I'll fill it full of Me. I'll fill it full of God, and then you will have life to the full." And that's what Christmas is all about. We often forget that as we get busy shopping, baking, decorating, wrapping, and attending parties. In this message, Jill challenges us to keep the focus on Christ and the significance of His birth this Christmas.

Do you seek Him wholeheartedly? The Wise Men were from the East, philosophers and astrologers in the employ of kings. Yet something in their study of the stars convinced them to travel far to seek the baby Jesus to worship as King of the Jews. In this message from Matthew 2, Stuart Briscoe helps us understand what may have motivated these men to embark on their search and challenges us to use them as inspiration not only for ourselves but in how we interact with the seekers of Jesus in our own lives. This is the final teaching in Stuart's 6-message series Coping with Christmas.

About Stuart and Jill Briscoe

Stuart Briscoe uses wit and intellect to target your heart, capture your attention and challenge you to grow! You will find his logic compelling as he brings a fresh, practical perspective to the Scriptures. Born in England, Stuart left a career in banking to enter the ministry full time. He has written more than 50 books, received three honorary doctorates and preached in more than one hundred countries. He was senior pastor of Elmbrook Church in Brookfield, Wisconsin, for thirty years, and currently serves as minister-at-large.

Jill Briscoe was born in England and found Christ when she was 18 years old. She never looked back. Upon graduating from Cambridge University, she began working as a teacher by day and had a vigorous street ministry to the youths of Liverpool by night.

She met Stuart at a youth conference and they married in 1958. In the 50 years since, Jill has become a highly sought-after Bible teacher and author who travels around the world ministering to under-resourced churches and speaking at international seminars and conferences. Since 2000, she and Stuart, who was formerly senior pastor of Elmbrook Church for 30 years, have had the joy of equipping and encouraging believers across the globe in their roles as ministers-at-large for Elmbrook.

Jill has authored more than 40 books including devotionals, study guides, poetry and children's books. Her vivid, relational teaching style touches the emotions and stirs the heart. She serves as Executive Editor of Just Between Us, a magazine of encouragement for ministry wives and women in leadership, and served on the board of World Relief and Christianity Today, Inc., for over 20 years.

Jill and Stuart call suburban Milwaukee, Wisconsin their home. When they are not traveling, they spend time with their three children, David, Judy and Peter, and thirteen grandchildren.
