Jesus invited us to a dance, and we've turned it into a march of soldiers, always checking to see if we're doing it right and in step and in line with all the other soldiers. - Steve Brown, "A Scandalous Freedom"
Are you exhausted from marching in your spiritual life and longing to dance? What's holding you back? Pete Briscoe tackles this question in this message from his series, Dance Lessons. If you want to dance but are afraid it will take you too far in the other direction and you might fall into sin, you'll want to listen as Pete teaches from Galatians.
Galatians 2:15

When Jesus breathed, "It is finished," that was it!  And yet, it's pretty common to find churches and Christians embracing additional "rules" that "good Christians" should follow. You might even be following some of them yourself. Do these "tribal rules," as Pete Briscoe calls them, bring people closer to Jesus or keep them away? Are they making you reluctant to share your faith with those who don't look or live as you do?The same thing was happening in the early church, and it sparked an argument between Paul and Peter. In this message from Dance Lessons, Pete explains the danger of these rules and why we can live in glorious freedom from them.Galatians 2:11-14 and Acts 11:19

If you have friends who are not believers, they may ask how you know the Gospel is true. Paul was asked, too. Could he have misunderstood what others told him? Did he have some details wrong? No! Paul received the truth of the Gospel straight from Jesus – not from men! In this message from Pete Briscoe's series, Dance Lessons, he uses Paul's letter to the Galatians to teach how the Christian life starts, how we are to live it, and what living in the spirit looks like. It's not a set of rules, but a wide open door to follow Jesus! Galatians 1:11-2:10

Martin Luther said, "Preach the Gospel to yourself every day." We need reminding sometimes! In this message from Pete's series, Dance Lessons, he turns to Paul's letters to summarize the Gospel message and apply it to everyday life. Who are you in Christ?  How does His death and resurrection empower you to overcome sin, trials, and even death?Galatians 1:11-15

Galatians is different than other letters written by Paul. In every other epistle, he finds something for which to praise the young churches before giving them advice. However, he's so angry with the Galatians that he skips that section all together. Why?In a single word - legalism. It had infected their churches, and even today, it minimizes what Jesus did on the cross and tells us we have to do something, too, to earn salvation. Listen as Pete teaches through Galatians 1:1-8, and learn how to avoid the lie of legalism and trust in Christ alone. This is the 4th message in Pete's 23-message series, Dance Lessons.

There's a story told that Abe Lincoln purchased a slave and immediately told her she was free when they walked away. She began to question him: "Free to think what I want? Free to go where I want to go?"  When he answered, "Yes," she replied, "Then I think I'll go with you."Do we really understand that we are completely, joyously free, through Christ? And if we do, why do we continue to act like we're not?In this single message, Pete teaches from Galatians 5:1 and Luke 4:14-20, and it's the 3rd message in his 23-message series, Dance Lessons.
