Stuart Briscoe Paul's instructions to the Ephesians "do not get drunk" and to "be filled with the Spirit" are not unrelated. Their juxtaposition is designed to explain the latter in the light of the former. This is important because there is no shortage of confusion on the subject.

Stuart Briscoe The feelings of alienation which get so much publicity in our society are as old as humanity. They have their origins in humanity's alienation from God but manifest themselves in fractured relationships across the board. God has a plan to address it.

Stuart Briscoe It is no secret that the human race is in deep trouble, but there is little agreement on the exact nature and the extent of the problems. Scripture not only explains the situation, but also outlines God's response...His gracious plan of salvation.
