Telling the Truth

Stuart and Jill Briscoe

Barnabas

April 1, 2016
Are you more concerned with what others think of you than you are with doing what is right? Barnabas was a man of incredible character who was far more concerned with Christ's agenda than he was with the world's agenda.

But before you put him on a biblical pedestal, recognize that you've been given the same power that motivated and activated Barnabas - the indwelling Holy Spirit. In this message, Stuart Briscoe shares how we can learn to commit wholeheartedly to the Truth and live daily in the fullness of the Spirit.

Based on Acts 11:19-30, this is the 4th message from Stuart's series Heroes of the Faith.

"Follow me." It's a simple command but has profound implications. Jesus used these words to call His disciples - all men of various backgrounds and professions. Even Matthew - a despised, hated, and isolated tax collector - was called by Jesus without hesitation. To this very day, Jesus is still calling men and women of all backgrounds, personalities, and abilities to follow Him. What does following Christ look like in today's world? Stuart Briscoe takes us to the story of Matthew for answers. Based on Matthew 9:9-13, this is the 2nd message from Stuart's series Heroes of the Faith.

Gideon was once a fearful and hopeless man who openly questioned God during a difficult period. So he seemed to be quite an unlikely candidate when the Angel of the Lord came to him with an incredibly important mandate. In this message, Stuart Briscoe uses the story of Gideon to dispel any preconceived standards we might hold about whom God calls, and asks the question: Is He calling you? Based on Judges 6:1-7:25, this is the 1st message from Stuart's series Heroes of the Faith.

The Passover story in the Book of Exodus is a vivid example of God making a distinction between the Egyptians and the Hebrews. Pete Briscoe brings the Passover story to life with a narrative that draws in characters whose points of view you may have never considered before - all the while showing how the Passover is a physical picture of what Jesus accomplished on the cross. Based on Exodus 12:3-13, this is the 7th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

When God visibly appears to man in the Old Testament He's called the Angel of the Lord. But who exactly is the Angel of the Lord - an angel, the Holy Spirit, God the Father? Furthermore, why does the Angel of the Lord appear and for what purpose? In this message, Pete Briscoe answers these confounding questions and points to Scriptural evidence of it being the pre-incarnate Christ. Based on Genesis 22:11-12 and Exodus 3:1-6, this is the 5th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.

The man Melchizedek is mentioned only three times in Scripture. Yet the manner in which he comes onto the scene in Genesis 14 and the language used to describe him in all three instances is important to study. Why? Because Scripture tells us that Jesus is a forever priest in the order of Melchizedek. In this message, Pete Briscoe takes a theological discussion that might otherwise stump people and reveals hidden truths about Melchizedek that are exciting to discover. Based on Genesis 14, this is the 4th message in Pete's 15-message series, Seeing Jesus in the Old Testament.
