Trusting in Trouble

July 15, 2016
When trouble comes your way, are you quick to question it? Have you ever gone so far as to question God Himself? The world can tempt us into asking, How could a loving God let something so terrible happen? Have you ever found yourself pondering that question?

Instead of questioning the character of God, Job willingly received suffering from God's hands. But how was he able to accept the seemingly unacceptable? Jill shares how we can experience a transformation of attitude, and move from a place of questioning God to a place of trusting God.

This is the 2nd message in Jill's 8-message series, Triumph in Trouble, on the life of Job.

Scripture teaches that every good and perfect gift is from above—but would you ever think to see adversity as a gift from God? In the same way we receive good things from above, we should learn to accept trouble as well. But how can we do that? In this message from Job 1 & 2, Jill answers that question by diving deep into Job's story and sharing how our eyes can be opened to see hardships—and God Himself—in a whole new way. This is the 1st message in Jill's 8-message series, Triumph in Trouble, on the life of Job.

In 2 Kings 4, there's a story about a widow who has run out of options on how to pay her creditors. She's facing the real possibility that she will lose both of her young sons to slavery, as a means of paying her debt. This desperate woman is out of money, out of hope, and out of faith. She's angry at God for the situation she's facing with seemingly no way out. Have you ever felt that way? How do you find peace when your faith is completely out of focus? When the sheer weight of the moment has blinded you to the Holy Spirit at work on your behalf? Jill Briscoe's message, "A Little Pot of Oil" will remind you that God is sufficient. And you have all you need when you have all of Him in all you.

In this message by Jill, she teaches us what to do with sin so that we can make God the true ruler of our lives.
