Nimrod was the Brick Bully of Babel and led the rebellion against God to build a Tower reaching to the heavens. He enslaved men to make bricks to build his kingdom until God intervened to confound their language and scatter them upon the earth.
God forbade His altars and Temple to be made of bricks. His altars were made of unhewn stone, so no tool of man could pollute them. The spirit of Nimrod is still in the world today rebelling against God and conforming billions into its mold.
Man makes bricks, but God makes stones, and He has called His people to be "living stones built up unto a holy habitation" for His Spirit to dwell in. Are you a worldly brick or a holy stone?

Hope is such a positive word, and yet in English, it is often used anemically — more like a wish: "I hope my package comes today." This is far beneath the New Testament definition of hope, which is comprised of three indispensable elements: Patience, confidence, and expectation. The reason it's so powerful is, it is grounded in faith that is founded on the Word of God. It is actually the second stage of faith!
Praying the prayer of faith begins the process once you have laid claim to a promise in God's Word. But when there is a delay, as there often is, you can cast away your confidence and fail to receive the reward of your faith. This is where hope comes into play: that patient, confident expectation of the fulfillment of the promise. Hope is the anchor of the soul that makes a believer's faith in God's promises unsinkable. It is so rich that the rapture of the church is called the Blessed Hope, and every believer knows this is not a wish or an uncertain expectation!

In his letters to the Corinthians and Thessalonians, Paul described the rapture of the church taking place at the sound of "the last trump," when the dead in Christ shall rise first, and the living Christ shall be caught up together with them in the air to meet the Lord. In Hebrew, it is called "a shofar," which is made from a ram's horn.
The shofar blasts had four different sounds that signified different actions, but the final blast was loud and long. This is what they heard when God spoke on Mount Sinai in the wilderness. John wrote in Revelation that God's voice is the sound of the shofar. Some rabbis claim Satan hates the sound of the shofar, because he cannot tell the difference between the sound of the shofar and God's voice! When he hears it, he trembles.
Very soon. God is going to sound the last blast, and we will be out of here!

Some of the saddest words in the Bible: "and he died." The first man, Adam, lived to 939, but he still died, and he wasn't supposed to die! Why did he die? Because he chose the wrong tree and never ate from the Tree of Life! This Tree was the centerpiece of the Paradise God created for him and Eve. Tragically, they never ate of its fruit. They chose the wrong tree! The penalty was physical and spiritual death, and lest they eat of the Tree of Life and live forever in their sinful state, God banished them from Eden.
The greater tragedy: Because Adam died, we all die! Sin and death entered the world we inherited, and in order to restore our access to the Tree of Life now in Heaven, Jesus chose to die on the cross – the tree of death.
