Tragedy or Triumph, Part 2

March 26, 2015
It is important that we don’t have our own ideas of who Jesus Christ is, but that we have a biblical view of who He is. The religious leaders of Jesus’s time had their own understanding of who they thought Messiah was going to be. Because of their religiosity, it caused them to miss out on their Messiahs entry into Jerusalem! Pastor Jeff begins part 2 of “Triumph or Tragedy”.

1 John chapter 4 vs 8 declares, “…God is Love”. We know from God’s Word that Love is patient and longsuffering. But the Kings of Judah took Gods longsuffering as Him being slow to judgment. This kind of thinking would lead to their destruction.

It’s been said that it doesn’t matter how well you start, what matters is how well you finish. On todays edition of Sound Doctrine we begin a study in 2 Kings chapter 21 entitled “The Last 3 Kings”. God desired to make Israel the light to the world, and wanted to govern them. However their pride and flesh drove them away from the leading of God and His Word. Their end would be the demise of several ungodly kings.

Did you know that not all sickness is physical or mental but we can become spiritually sick as well.  God healed King Hezekiah from his physical sickness, but he became spiritually sick. The healing from spiritual sickness comes from our great physician Jesus Christ. Pastor Jeff concludes his 3 part study in 2 Kings chapter 20 entitled, “Sickness and Healing”

The Evangelist D.L. Moody once said, “Work as if everything depended on you, and pray as if everything depended on God.” As Christians we are entreated by Christ to seek his Kingdom first and then all these things will be added to us. God wants His children to come to Him with request so he can bless them. We conclude our study in 2 Kings chapter 19 entitled “The Power of Answered Prayer”
March 17, 2015
Today on Sound Doctrine we continue a message on “The Power of Answered Prayer.” We’ve been learning about King Hezekiah and the harassment by his enemy. God is going to answer the call He received from Hezekiah and deal with his enemy. Pastor Jeff encourages us that when harassment comes by way of our enemy, prayer is the most powerful tool in the Christians arsenal.
