Welcome to a new week on SDR. We have been going through a very important series that applies to everyone who claims to be a Christian. Every Christian has a gift and calling upon their lives, and some are called to be pastors, but with this calling comes great responsibility, because Pastors are held accountable to God for things they teach the church. We will hear more about this as Pastor Jeff continues in the series called, To All God's Servants.

Thanks for joining us on Friday’s edition of SDR.  When Jesus ministered in the region of his hometown, He always placed the needs of the people before His own. He was moved with compassion and fed them, healed them and exhorted them. He is the example of a servant in ministry, and how to conduct ourselves in the body of Christ. The needs of the people should always come before our own, especially the spiritually sick. Join Pastor Jeff as he continues the series, To All God's Servants.

It’s interesting to see the changes in the church over the centuries. Some changes have been for the good and others for the bad. An area where the church seems to have become unhealthy is in strategy. The early church didn’t have a strategy for growth; they had a mission they were commissioned on. That same mission is still ongoing and it is the Holy Spirit that brings the increase. Pastor Jeff talks more about this from Acts 20, in a series called, To All God's Servants,

Welcome to Wednesday’s edition of SDR. Have you ever met someone at church who acted like they were above menial tasks, like taking out the garbage or helping people find their seats in a church service? Well today, Pastor Jeff explains that if we want to be great in Gods economy, we first must be the servants of all. Pastor Jeff uses the life style of the Apostle Paul to show the servant’s heart, we all need while serving in the ministry. Stay tuned for To All God's Servants.

Thanks for joining us on a Tuesday edition of SDR. In the book of Ephesians the Apostle Paul reveals that God has given Pastors to the church as gifts for the purpose of teaching and edification. The responsibility of the pastor is like a shepherd, to tend to the needs of the flock. He is to feed, protect and even discipline if needed. But the most important aspect of pastoral ministry is the teaching of God's Word. Stay tuned for the continuation of the series, To All God's Servants.

Currently we have been learning about the different aspects of ministry. Every Christian is called to minister in the different areas within the church body. We have all been given gifts and abilities to use for the benefit of others. Pastor Jeff is in the book of Acts chapter 20 teaching about a pastors' meeting that Paul called, to discuss many needs. It’s important for us as individuals to look for needs to be met within the church. Stay tuned for To All Gods Servants.

The Apostle Paul likens the Christian life to a long distance race. Any marathon runner knows that when you start the race, you don’t want to tire your self out immediately. Because it’s a long distance run you need stamina to complete the race. The same is true when serving the Lord. Walking with God is a life long marathon, and our eyes need to be fixed on the finish line, which is heaven. Join Pastor Jeff in part 4 of the series, To All God's Servants.

Welcome to Sound Doctrine Radio with Jeff Johnson Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel of Downey.Jesus Christ is the greatest example of how to minister to people. He always made Himself approachable to those in need. The human tendency can be to distance ourselves and never allow pepole to get close to us. This doesn't make for a very effective minister. We all have a ministry role to play in the body of Christ, because there are millions who are lost. So in our ministry we need to be as approachable as possible. Join Pastor Jeff for Part 1C of To All God's Servants.

Welcome to SDR with Jeff Johnson Senior Pastor of CCD. Pastor Jeff is teaching through the series called, To All God's Servants a 12 part study through the book of Acts. God has given each person a special gift and ability to use in ministry. Sadly, some people become proud in the gifts they have received from the Holy Spirit. This attitude is wrong, we are meant to be a blessing to the church not a curse, but God has His way of correcting this in us. Stay tuned for part 2 of To All God's Servants.

Welcome to SDR with Jeff Johnson Senior Pastor of CCD. Today, we begin a new series called, To All God's Servants a 12-part study in the book of Acts. As Christians, we are all called to serve in the ministry. Whether that is serving as a pastor, Sunday school teacher, or simply encouraging others. Whatever ministry we are called to, there is a certain criteria the Lord has for everyone who is involved in ministry and that is…to be a servant. Pastor Jeff begins in Acts 20:17 with the series, To All Gods Servants.
