The End Time Apostate Church, Part 3

March 3, 2014
Life is filled with choices.  We have a choice to follow God and His Word, or follow the enemy and the world. It should be an easy choice; but the further we got without following God, the blinder we become. Today Pastor Jeff says not to procrastinate with the decision to follow Christ.

Jesus said, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other.  You cannot seve God and mammon."  Though the church of Laodicea was materially rich, they were spiritually poor.  Today we are reminded that there is no profit in gaining the whole world if we loose our soul.

Of the seven churches in Revelation, the church of Laodicea is in the worse condition.  They were complacent and spirtually lukewarm, and the Lord has nothing good to say about them. Characteristically this church is still with us today.  And as time goes on, it becomes more evident that we are turly in the Last Days.

When cold and hot is mixed together the outcome is always lukewarm.  And if we are lukewarm spiritually we are of no use to the Kingdom of God. This is the warning we've been discussing in Revelation chapter 3. And today we will be challenged to evaluate ourselves with the question..."Are you lukewarm?"

Similar to Ephesus; the Laodiceans's left Jesus outside of the church.  This allowed the world to come in and indoctrinate the people.  Today we will continue part 2 of the message called "Are You Luke Warm?" and discover the folly of the Laodicean church.

On a hot day a cold beverage is the best way to quench your thirst.  On a cold night a hot beverage is the way to go.  But when that liquid sits for too long, it turns bitter and lukewarm.  When it comes to our spiritual life, we need to be on guard from becoming lukewarm.  This was the problem with the church of Laodicea, and it's what we will be discussing today on Sound Doctrine.

Can our love for the Lord be proven?  Well, Jesus said "If you love me, obey my commandements" (John 14:15).  The church of Philadelphia was faithful in obeying Gods Word, and because of this, they will be raptured before the Great Tribulation.

The work we do as a Christian is not so much about quantity, as it is quality. Along those same lines; Jesus said if we are faitful in what is little, we could be trusted with bigger things (Luke 16:10).  Today we continue our study in Revelation Chapter 3, and Pastor Jeff reminds us that faithfulness can make all the difference.

The body of Christ is to be salt and light.  Compelling and drawing in more people to taste and see that the Lord is good.  Today on Sound Doctrine, we will continue our study on the faithful church of Philadelphia.  A door was opened for them to do great works, and that same door remains open for us today.

Romans 5:5 says "Now hope does not dissapoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us."  But what are we doing with this hope?  And what are we doing with this love? Today on Sound Doctrine, Pastor Jeff urges us to spread this hope and love, and not keep it to ourselves.

As Christians, we must realize that we are living in the last days.  Prophetically, everything is ready, and Jesus is coming back for His church at any moment. Knowing all of this, how should we conduct ourselves?  Today, Pastor Jeff continues his message on the church of Philadelphia, and encourages us to be filled with Gods Love, and to do the work of an evangelist.
